Subject Taught: Geography

Why do you love your subject? Geography gives me a deeper connection to understanding and exploring the world on every level. It’s more than maps and rocks; it’s about uncovering the stories of people, places, and environments and how they shape—and are shaped by—politics, culture, and the economy. I am committed to helping students understand the connections between their lives and global issues, empowering them to think critically about the challenges we face and the positive change they can drive in the world.

What did you study at University? I completed my BSc in Geography and a PGCE in Secondary Education.

What do you want for our students at Waterside? I want our students to grow into resilient, informed, and compassionate individuals who question the world around them and are not afraid to work for a brighter, more equitable future. My goal is to support them in becoming empowered learners ready to make meaningful contributions locally and globally.

Interesting fact: I am an increasingly avid hiker and have conquered some challenging peaks, including the Matterhorn glacier (Switzerland), Mt Helvellyn (England), and Mt Snowdon (Scotland).
