Why do you have to study Combined Science?

Studying science is vital to understanding the world we live in. The combined science course gives students two GCSEs in the science discipline. We study the three aspects of science; biology, chemistry and physics. There are a number of compulsory core practicals across the three sciences that will be delivered through the three year course. We use the AQA specifications.

How will I be examined?

Combined science is a linear course and you will be assessed at the end of the three year course by sitting a series of six papers each lasting 1hr 15min which will lead to two science GCSEs. There is no longer any course work, however, you will be expected to recall information on the core practicals within the exams themselves.
